The latest generation of the Ram 1500 introduces a new engine lineup for 2025. The entry-level Tradesman and Big Horn trims, however, still feature the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine that Ram has trusted since 2011. This delivers an impressive 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque to pull up to 8,100 pounds. The rest of the trim levels gain the all-new Hurricane engine, which comes in both a standard output and high output variant. The all-new Hurricane engine is a three-liter twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine. In its standard format, the Hurricane engine lays down 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque. To put that power into perspective, the outgoing 5.7L V8 engine delivered 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. Plus, the Hurricane engine runs more efficiently using fewer cylinders. Meanwhile, the high-output version is tuned to provide drivers with a whopping 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. All three engine options come paired with a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission powering a rear-wheel drive system, while four-wheel drive is optional.

While the overall size and shape of the Ram 1500 stays the same in the 2025 model year, the front fascia receives a facelift for a more modern, aggressive look. This comes from reshaped headlights, an enlarged grille, and a forward-leaning posture. The rear fascia is also updated with newly reshaped taillights. Additionally, the tailgate now features bold 'RAM' lettering, replacing the previously standard Ram's head logo on every trim level. In years past, this was a feature standard only on the Rebel trim. When you get inside, there are newly available color schemes across the lineup. For example, the Big Horn trim is eligible for a new Diesel Grey interior color, while the Laramie can be had with a Bison Brown/Sea Salt Gray color scheme. Meanwhile, the Rebel gains a new Red and Black ombre seat trim and the Limited gains a Black Ebony real open-pore wood dashboard trim. Previous generations of the Ram 1500 have come standard with a five-inch touchscreen, while larger ones are optional. However, in 2025, the standard touchscreen for the Ram 1500 is 8.4 inches and runs the new Uconnect 5 software. While this is standard for the Tradesman, Big Horn, and Laramie, the Limited gains a 12-inch touchscreen, which is optional for the previous three trims. Meanwhile, the all-new Tungsten trim gains the largest-in-class touchscreen, spanning 14.5 inches. The all-new Tungsten trim redefines luxury trucks with unparalleled luxury features that go beyond the massive touchscreen. The new Tungsten features a 10.25-inch passenger touchscreen, Natura Plus leather upholstery, a 23-speaker Reference Premier audio system from Klipsch, and 24-way power-adjustable front seats with heating, cooling, and massaging lumbar support. 

Ram took the safety of the Ram 1500 model to new heights in the 2025 model year with an array of standard and available safety features. In the event of a collision, you and your passengers are protected by a high-strength steel frame with reinforced side impact beams, six airbags, and seatbelt pretensioners. But the best collision protection comes from preventing a collision altogether. That's where the Ram 1500's driver assistance technologies come into play. Standard driver assists for the entire Ram 1500 lineup include electronic stability control with roll mitigation, a backup camera with dynamic grid lines, blindspot monitoring, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and more. Meanwhile, optional safety features and those that come standard on higher trim levels include parallel/perpendicular park assist, active lane management, traffic sign recognition, drowsy driver detection, evasive steering assist, a digital rearview mirror with tow mode, a head-up display, and Hands-Free Active Driving Assist. The new Hands-Free Active Driving Assist is for use on approved roads and uses the adaptive cruise control and active lane management features to maintain the vehicle's lane position and speed with minimal driver input.
